Hi there,could someone tell me why when i log in the user name doesnt appear hust my researcher number?also how do i personalise my page and how do i visit other peoples page to leave them a message as unlike a chatroom i cant seem to find a list of users...i am a totsl novice at this and its drivin me nuts..

The name you specified when you registered is your login user name. It is not supposed to be visible. It is quite separate from your nickname which you can set via this link <./>UserDetails</.> (although there is nothing to stop you making them the same but don't tell anyone your password).
Use this link <./>UserEdit?Masthead=1</.> to create your personal space page. You can type in plain text or switch to GuideML mode (rather like HTML).
You can <./>search</.> for a specific user by name, see a list by date at <./>NewUsers</.> or see who's on site right now with <./>online</.>.

good morning researcher ive come to your rescue
the first thing to do is go here <./>UserDetails</.> and delete your researcher number and put in a username then select update
are you using a digibox ?? if you are then you need to go here A948602
if you click on my name you will see a section that says online and it will show you whos's online and select there name
to personalise your page just visit here A690518

to answer the rest of your questions... 
you can visit other users pages by clicking on their name at the top of any posting they make (like my name at the top of this one). you can leave other users messages by replying to a posting they've made (clicking reply button at the bottom of the post) or by starting a new conversation on their page. start new conversations by clicking 'discuss this entry' or 'start a new conversation' at the bottom of the page. there isn't a list of all users, but there is a list of all users that are currently online. clicking 'who's online' will bring up a new window with a list of everyone that's currently logged in, unless you're using a digibox in which case it doesn't work.
