I've just hitched a ride abourd the Vogon ship which destroyed the Earth. Now I'm in dark and can't seem to do anything. I've been trying for the past week but nothing works.

You could start by puting some thing on your personal space - once you do that people can post there including Aces (Assistant Community Editors, who have the job of looking after new users).

Researcher 192694, have you checked all your senses?
After you have waited for a while, at some point the sense of smell should become conspicuously absent from the list of things you cant do.

lol, Most people are very friendly and will be very helpfull, although me I just tend to hand out 
and maybe a Borbon or two between friends

I don't think it was a frame up, it was just a slightly confused newbie.
There's a text adventure computer game of hitchhikers (there's an entry on it somewhere!). Where you have to go on the vogon ship and then you appear to have lost all your senses.
This researcher is stuck with the game, so tried to post at the Don't Panic help center!
