Hmm, yes,, this certainly is only a very small fraction of what we would both like to achieve.

Mental visions of:

me, staring into a tank of smiley - sharks "Bonjour, aider vous les pauvres?"

Z, drifting gently to his floral helipad whilst engrossed in the study of as yet undiscovered medical conditions.

--Meanwhile, I have sent Part One of the Zen-Devil Eating Plan. Food for thought???? It required at least 10 fags to produce the concentration required.smiley - erm

At least 10! there's no point me doing this if you're going to smoke anyway? smiley - tongueout

Be honest - how many have you smoked today?

I've just got back from shopping and brought all the prescribed products.

Except for coriander, couldn't find that, but I've got all the other herbs and spices. I've also brought some cos cos, which Ihaven't eaten for ages, but is really nice. I use it instead of rice and stuff.

I've also found a jar of pickled beetroot,is that ok to add to stuff and use as veg? well it;'s time to find out anyway..

methinks lasanga today, I often make it myself anyway, though I use a bit more fat than you told me too.

Oooh and low fat chedder - that isn't going ot get used much because it's sooo expensive. I'll just experiment with getting the cheese sauce right and then make loads and freeze it as you suggested

Jolly good! Yes, go ahead with the lasagne, actually, you ate it when you were here i think?

I realise low fat cheddar is more expensive than the normal sort, BUT if cheese is one of your favourites, it's worth it. If you normally eat lots of cheese for snacks (toasties etc)then you are probably buying lots anyway, & it is undeniable that it's VERY high in fat! So, if you've got less of it hanging around, you might well cut down on portion size, but won't have to deprive yourself totally.

When you say "toasties", do you have one of those sandwich toasters or do you do it under the grill? The sandwich toasters are actually not bad, you can use all sorts of fillings other than cheese 'cos it seals it in. pain to clean though!

Let me know which veg you have & I will start thinking of smiley - cool packed lunch stuff!

Well this is certainly an achievement, I woke up today looking forward to cooking some of your lovely recipes. One of the things I hate about sliming is that I can't wake up looking forward to what i'm going to cook that day!.]

I've recieved your packed lunch recipes and they all look delicous smiley - drools I'm trying to find 5 margine tubs so that I can prepare them all on a Sunday and defrost them throughout the weeks.

Thank yo for so much this could make a real difference to my life smiley - biggrinsmiley - wow

Great!!! I'm REALLY glad you are enthusiastic about this! As I said, it's NOT a diet, just a different way of eating, which hopefully doesn't involve losing the joy of eating nice tasting stuff, just finding ways of cutting out the silly bits which aren't doing you any good.

The "less oil, more stir" thing is the main "secret" i suppose.

Just concocted a new recipe, born out of desperation, i had some leeks & peanuts which needed using up. So i made a sort of shepherds pie with ground up nuts, leeks & tomatoes, topped with the inevitable mashed potato. Had it with mushroom & onion gravy & was pleasantly surprised, it was delicious! AND hardly any fat, no cheese, in fact it's pretty much a vegan recipe. I'll send it if you're interested (& the gravy recipe, Christmas dinner special!)

Yes, you will need the margarine tubs for packed lunch stuff, also for freezing other things. The salads WON'T freeze though, but should keep in the fridge for at least a couple of days, so you should only have to make two of the basic ones, then just chuck in the other bits to ring the changes on the day.

Smoking wise, yesterday's total was 20; which is an improvement on 30! Today it's a bit more difficult to calculate, since my sleep/wake times are very weird.; I was up most of the night, back to bed at about 5am, up again to let Yoda out at 7, back to bed, up again at 12ish, snoozed again in the afternoon. So, hard to calculate what constitutes a day! But so far, 18. Not very good. I am pretty down today, hope tomorrow is better. My back is really really hurting, being in constant pain drags you down a lot, plus the cold weather makes it worse.

Yes, it really COULD change your life! I will be so pleased if this helps, anyway, even if it didn't work as a diet, you will have fun trying out the recipes!

Did you go for lasagne in the end, or just use the pasta sauce bit? What did you think? Obviously, modify it according to your tastes (& what you happen to have lying around in the kitchen; no, i am not referring to Neil!smiley - winkeye)

squeak soon
