A Conversation for Talking Point: Ideal Homes
Not quite ideal, but...
Cheerful Dragon Started conversation Feb 10, 2007
My mother-in-law died just before Christmas and we inherited her house. It doesn't quite match my idea home (see thread 'My Ideal Home'), but it's 'free'. That is, we aren't paying a mortgage on it and once it's done up we can sell our current house and be mortgage-free for the forseeable future. (I don't want to think about the amount of work required before we can move in, or the cost. Fortunately, mum-in-law left us a bit of money towards the refurbishment.)
Things I love about our 'new' house:
Good sized front room
A room that will be just for books
A separate room for our computers
Two bedrooms, so I can escape hubby's snoring
A larger bathroom - nearly twice the size of our current bathroom
It's in a village, with open fields just across the road

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
