TiT, we've had so much contradicting advice over the last year or so, that we don't know what we're suppose to be doing anymore. We do what we think is right, then discover the goal posts have been moved, so we're wrong. Sometimes it's better for us to do nothing, then end up with egg on our face.

Inthis case, it's quite simple: it's not a member of h2g2, but of today, and we don't ace members from other message boards. That means, that I for one am not going to ace this researcher - and, to be honest, I don't see why I should.

I have seen groups and individuals 'having a peek' I also see on occasion an individual with some doubts. That is when I report here. If we can convince them to join we have gained. If they loose interest everybody has lost.

1)only welcome people who have signed up for h2g2 not from any other BBC board

2)we welcome new users who are willing to take a active part in h2g2 conversations P.R etc and insure they carry on what h2g2 has built up

thats why there reluctant now to migrate accounts over to h2g2 anymore

Which interpretation though? If I could be bothered, which I can't, I could find a few among the threads here that contradict each other, that's what I mean by moving the goal posts. No worries TiT, I'm not getting at you.

Intern, do you remember what happened with the last migrates. Some of us did what we had previously been adviced to do, we didn't encourage them as they were trying set uo their own group within hootoo, then we got told to welcome them...!!!!

If the Eds don't know what they're doing, what chance do we have.

I'm quite confused about whether we're still only supposed to be welcoming people who've contributed in some way. I've taken to welcoming everyone (unless they are members of another DNA site) because otherwise the newbies list will end up ridiculously long and everytime someone comes to ace, even if we all set the list to show only researchers from the last day, we'll all be going through the same names. That's a waste of time, in my opinion.

This member has _not_ Signed In to HooToo



'All_4_Ewe' < U6458853 > Is a Researcher, but they have not contributed to HooToo, Though having a Personal Space introduction they do not show up on h2g2 in < <./>MP6458853</.> > any conversation. This is clearly a state of denial; removing 'any' evidence of beeing here. I admit this is a tough one with lots of pros and contras about greeting. This Researcher _HAS_ Signed In to HooToo ! only they deny it.

As soon as the message board member Signs in to HooToo they get an Entry for their Persional Space and we can greet them. However some just deny they have Signed In to have a private backdoor chat with others. "

To <./>ACE</.> or not to <./>ACE</.> That is the question!
