Well - in the humour department anyway - I wouldn't personally want to try any of these at home!

These recipes are hysterical. Maybe we should publish a Cookbook??? I have a nice recipe for Spicy Peanut Butter Eel cookies...

They are basically a parody of the "Joy of Cooking" recipes.
But some of them do reflect my "mulligan stew" form of cooking which my daughter is just now learning to realize the usefulness of.
Hmm, quizzical, reminds me of a cereal from my youth: Eel Flakes, for that electric taste of the sea every morning.

'The Joy of Eels' - could be a winner!
When I traveled in Germany visiting family, I discovered that they actually like to eat eels. They couldn't understand why I was always busy at mealtimes...

Yep! Eels are quite a delicacy here too - and they also indulge in raw or pickled herring eaten whole by dangling the head in the mouth and then swallowing. They stand around the street doing it! No wonder I wear blinkers.

Could be worse... could be octopi...living octopi...
My mother used to feed us this digusting mess that offended my sensitive sensibilities as a child: Stewed tomatoes with old bread.
Glurk! To this day, the feeling of trying to swallow that mess makes me
There was also this crap called wilted lettuce that involved vinegar...

"they also indulge in raw or pickled herring eaten whole by dangling the head in the mouth and then swallowing."
There are some weirdos around here who do that with raw oysters...
Whatever happened to that sage advice about chewing leading to better digestion?

Thoroughly enjoyed reading all the recipes. And I think I'd prefer some of them to wilted lettuce or raw eels.
Key: Complain about this post
