I have also come across ‘amicable numbers’, which Pythagoras is alleged to have described as ‘one who is the other I’.
Lancelot Hogben, in his book Mathematics for the Million, gives 220 and 284 as two such. The factors of 220 add up to 284 and the factors of 284 add up to 220.
More useless knowledge.
