Swimming To Jupiter 3: A Yellow Submarine
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted May 8, 2000
Huh. I can't hep you there. Unless you want to swim back and get the one that fell out of this sub somewhere around... wait... just where are we?

Cakewalker Posted May 8, 2000
*Calls down to the sub as Asteroid Lil and DD join him on the surface*
It's not so much a lack of air that's the problem, more the lack of space. Any chance of making that craft a little bigger (or, if possible, a lot bigger)

*pushes button -- makes sub much smaller* OUCH! Oops!
*pushes other button -- makes sub much, much larger* Ahh that's better!

So... where, in relation to Jupiter, and to the Beach, are we, exactly? I lost my way just before I lost the motor. I might be able to get the motor back if you'd tell me where we are now.

*Deep breathe*
*DD descends back toward the submarine and enters though the airlock*
Ah much more roomy in here now.

Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 8, 2000
*sits on the edge of the pool, recovering her composure*
I don't like the sound of that be-smaller button. And I don't like the fact that Bluebottle won't tell Irv where the sub is.
{Continuity note: Lil is still wearing her babel fish and was able to hear the conversation below via the fish's intercom feature}

If it's water boules, sure.
*slips back into water and makes herself comfortable on boogie board*

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted May 8, 2000
Does *anybody* know where we are?
Swimming To Jupiter 3: A Yellow Submarine
Asteroid Lil - Offstage Presence Posted May 9, 2000
*decides to resume swimming to Jupiter*
I reckon if they get the yellow sub working we should see the periscope break the surface anytime. Maybe I'll go back inside if they stay on the surface...

We are halfway between Jupiter and the Asteroid belt, we'll be at Jupiter at the end of Swimming To Jupiter 5, no doubt.
As for how far from the beach we are - about 2 1/2 forums, really. Does that help? I'll see if I can build a timewarp into the previous forums.

Demon Drawer Posted May 9, 2000
Did someone mention a timewarp.
It's just a jump to the left, and then a step to the right....

It's coming back now! We got hit by some big rocks, and that's when the engine fell our! Now if we just go back...
*At an improbability factor of 1520695008 to the 4th, the Infinite Improbability Espresso Machine materializes onboard the sub*
Wow! It must have followed me when someone ordered a cappuccino! Now we no longer have to go back for the engine, we can just hook this up to the sub! In seven dialogue sentences during this post I've used an exclaimation point eight times!(six)!(seven)!(eight)

I'm sure you all noticed that someone had a Yellow Submarine article approved at:
http://www.h2g2.com/A295562
I thought that sounded relevant....
And now for the timewarp... So, when exactly did you hit some big rocks? We have to time our singing of "When I'm Sixty Four" exactly to get back to the right time of the accident.
Did you know that the Isle of Wight is mentioned in the Beatles song "When I'm Sixty Four"?

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted May 9, 2000
yes, I noticed, yes, I knew about the lyrics, and now that we have the IIEM, which we can hook into where the sub's motor *was*, we can get it going! See?
::makes cappuccino, causing the proppeller to begin spinning::
Now, shall we surface to pick up the others that decided to keep swimming? Or did you want to do some sight seeing under the sea, in an octopus's garden in the shade?

Bluebottle Posted May 9, 2000
I think we should surface and collect everyone, and then see if we can find the "Grey Goose" on the bottom of the pool. What do you think?

Cakewalker Posted May 10, 2000
*watches bubbles rising to the surface*
Gosh! Looks like they fixed it.
*waits for the sub to congratulate the crew*
