At the moment I'm 4 days away from moving house, so living in quite a chaotic mess. Other than that, I've not really been online that much lately, only about once or twice a week.

Everyone's packing up and clearing out, while my friends and I are wondering what to take with us! Ah, the irony.
Thanks for the tip BB, I'll follow it up shortly. Seeing as you've dusted that drinks machine off J'au-æmne, may I have a coffee?

Help yourself...
My net access may be a little tempremental for a while now I'm leaving uni... so If I'm not here, self service is the rule of the day...

[Mackenzie] Why make a new thread? There's some out there that're over 5500 long ...

Indeed there are, but I, being an old fashioned sort from the days of having the conversation load in one go with a giant tree that took years to find the last posting, find something refreshing about conversation moving.
It's fun!

Ah yes, I remember those days... was it the first Ripley which had paged conversations, or did that come in with one of the Llama releases? I could go and look, I suppose, but I'm too lazy.

Ah well, it doesn't matter all that much. But in those days, a 400-post thread was pretty much unmanageable... pages were very well-received, I seem to recall, although there were a few little teething problems at the start. Like having to page through every single page of posts to get to the end each time...

Does anyone else remember the days when you weren't told who you were replying to, which meant that when you were in several conversations at once, it was easy to forget. Hence the rise of individual signatures at the end of each post to help whoever was replying know whose message they were replying to. I seem to be one of the few who still use theirs.

It was back in early-mid 1999 - if you are a 40000 number, surely you were there then...? Or if not, you must have just missed it...
