Mmmmmmm Doughnuts
Bluebottle Posted Mar 25, 2002
Hi - a honey doughnut, please!
You know, I had a terrible experience yesterday. Sarah & I were doing the weekly shopping when Sarah said, "D'you know, I'm thinking I might buy some yoghurt"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Yoghurt! You can imagine I was shocked! Us buy Coloured slime?! Where would it end?!?!?! Sarah already owns a mobile phone, and if she bought yoghurt then the Middle Class influences would take over, and where would it lead? Sooner or later she'd be buying Mineral Water and Mayonnaise!
Luckily I was able to prevent her from buying the yoghurt, but it was a very close thing...
I like my puddings to be hard-working, Working Class puddings, not nancy prancy coloured glopp like yoghurt, so please mayu I have a doughnut?

*hands over an honest-to-goodness honey doughnut, using the english spelling for once*
I buy yoghurt - but only for breakfast. I can eat it quickly, see...

I'm happy. I have a replacement monitor which works well (so far) and a new Mediaeval Baebes album to listen to - and it's great!
My life is good... at the moment at least.

The thing with yoghurt is that it is so completely posh a pudding; it can't be enjoyed by the poor. Can you imagine a working class man coming home from a 10 hour shift of non-stop manual labour and having worked up a decent appetite being satisfied by yoghurt?! No - he wants doughnuts, treacle tart and, most of all, spotted dick.

Yoghurt is good - but you have to have other food with it!!
10 hour shift

I am wondering where you would find the working class man who has done a 10 hour shift in non-stop manual labor, I think they went out with the turn of the century before this one
