I'm looking at the Ballad of Davy Crockett too, but I'm a bit unsure about providing the lyrics: I don't want to infringe copyright. It was written in 1954. Does that mean we have to wait until 2004 to re-produce the lyrics?

Generally, the rules state that you should be alright with brief excerpts from the song, but not great big chunks.

Right, if I can reproduce bits of the lyrics, that's fine, but it's going to take me a while. I want to try to match lyrics to historical records Do you have an end date of any sort in mind?
