fried bat

Of the more than 250 species of bat once known to thrive in the Oriental regions, about 30 species (the largest ones) are nearing extinction because of human ingenuity in their capture and slaughter for food.
Deep fried bat, once a rural delicacy and reliable emergency food supply, has become a stable luncheon favourite in many urban environs because it's fairly fast food and easy to cook. You throw the whole thing in a deep fryer full of boiling grease for about 2 or 3 minutes. It comes out crispy and crunchy like fries or chips.

I don't wish to know this.
And in Austin they are telling people to stay away from the bats (of which there are many) because of the high incidence of Rabies.
