Bubba-fretts: 11 duffers, there. Stick to Phootball, mate.
Alfredo: Bloody hell! Can I be your assistant manager? That's a winning team, for sure.
SBE: I like the tactic of bidding primarily for fat people.
Nirvanite: You appear to be living about 8 years ago.
Jules: A conservative selection. Might score surprisingly well.
Megachedda: Not a chance. Leave this game to the grown-ups.
MT: An option for style over substance, methinks. Where will the grafters be when you need them?
Andy G: Playing the numbers. You're bound to be disappointed. Best take up roulette.
Egon: Mr Skinflint appears to have woefully underbid yet again and missed out on most of his star players.
DD: Proof that Celts should stay away from cricket.
MB: I'm having to tip myself for third, after Alfredo's uber-team and Jules.
Magwitch: Good luck. Nuff said.
Frenchbean: A nice-looking tail-end. Might depend on her third-round bidding.
Ere! Where did all these women come from? You never play Phantasy Phootball.

SBE's Invincibles get my vote as the team to beat.

Style over substance indeed. Mr Victor Trumper would have been proud.

Yeah, I was planning to keep cash in reserve for fire-fighting later on in the season, and missed out on Butcher, Ramprakash, Solanki, Ed Smith and others as a result.

Yep. There was always a chance the rest of us would overlook them.

Trout's analysis is very tight... and just a few rogue matches, overhung players (no, no, no, surely not? ), rainy days (ditto) will make it irrelevant.

As a know nothing 'Celt'()I'll happily take that on the chin, but give me a season to find my feet and then next year...
