what're the three layers of shields? Particle and energy I understand, what's the third layer?

<the shields are physical, spiritual, and visual... stopping matter, magic, and keeping people from looking in. I haven't decided if the visual shield is a black dome(only from the outside) or if it just makes it look like nothings here)

nothing sounds better. But what about energy? A Shadow Battlecrab or an ISD could scyth this vally clean in a couple of seconds!

I dunno. what do you mean by energy anyway?
Energy is either light, which the visual shield stops, or its heated/vibrating/charged particles which I suppose the physical stops. well I dunno. how to stop electricity?

well, the Shadows use an energy weapon called a "moleclear cutter" while the ISDs have ion cannons that shut down electrical systems and turbolasers which fire 200 megaton duel plasma bolts.

plasma: electrosn flying around.
electricity: electyrons flying around

molecualr cutter? sounds like monofilament, or perhaps a beam that weakens molecualr bonds.
Ion? more electrons. so.
Ion thoguh it seems someone thought just sounds cool without thinking about it. An ion won't *actually* shut down electrical signals... I don't think. Seems we need something like an electromagnetic field and/or a static field that changes to reflect various electrical attacks.
thoguh its worth mentioning these shields are not powered by electricity, but by "prayer power"... magic.

plasma: excited gas, in the case of turbolasers, super excited gas (just very much more powerful than solar wind, which is also plasma). The Centauri use a similar weapon called an ion accelerator at a higher rate of fire and tonnage than the Imperial Turbolaser.

Ion cannons: fire a bolt of an unspecified type that halts the flow of electrons and in inferior systems, fuses their wires and circuits.

Moleclear cutter: an energy weapon that slices through any and all matter with no resistance and can destroy 70 cubic kilometers of matter in an atmospheric blast. It is not mono-filiment

I forgot, the Vorlons could probably blow this place to heck too.

Vorlon lighting gun: does not actually fire lightning, fires a lightning looking blast that dispurses the matter it effects at 99% of the speed of light. The tonnage conversion for a lightning blast from a 121 meter Vorlon transport is approximately 2 gigatons

Vorlon cutter: same effects as the Shadow's moleclear cutter

Vorlon death ray: fired by Dreadnoughts and the Vorlon Planet Killer. ranges from 100 gigatons on the Dreadnought to a planet vaporizing blast from the Planet Killer

Actually if I really wanted to I could insist that in fact virtually unlimited also breaks the near-absolutes rule of continuity, but I won't, becauseI get the point and that would be even mroe annoying, I think.
