h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

A quick timescale for you:

7pm - A bunch of friends from Uni, including myself, pop out on a Friday night with the intention of going for a quick meal, watching a film and them coming home to watch a few vids and drink a few bevvies.

10pm - We return home having eaten said meal, watched said film and pop up to our rooms to pick up a few tinnies and take our shoes off

10:30pm - We congregrate in the room of the girl downstairs from me to drink, be sociable and partake of a few interesting cigarettes.

11pm - Said girl suddenly says: "Whoops! I left my onion rings on" and leaves room with maximum haste

11:01pm - "What time did she put them in?" I enquire, assuming they may be slightly overcooked. "6pm, says her best friend"

11:03pm - Room-owner returns with a sooty face and eight circles of charcoal on a baking tray. "I'd better bin these." she says. "Hang on", says I, and breaks a piece of charcoal off and pops it in my mouth. "Mmmm...quite tasty", says I in mock appreciation.

11:05pm - Jolly DJ and rich bloke who is sat in the corner getting rapidly stoned says "I'll give you £20 to eat them all"

11:06pm - Challenge accepted. I stoke up on cold tinnies to wash it down.

12:30am - I finally force down the rest of the charcoal and claim my money.

3:30-3:45am, 9:45-10:00am, 11:20-11:35am - I sit on the toilet and say "Ow!" a lot.



Only one of the many stories of disgusting things I have put in my mouth for cash.
