A Conversation for Hellmans' Anachronism: an hypothesis about historical proof of future time travel (UG)

UFOs

Post 1

Jerms - a Brief flicker and then gone again.

You may or may not be aware, that there is already a theory circulating that UFOs are actually time travel devices from the future. A simple theory but compelling, I find.
And it would explain why aparrantly there were more UFOs reported both at the site, and during the time of, the bombing of Nagasaki than any other time in history (or so I'm told, but I only have that one source of info for that, so it could be porky pies.)

Just FYI...

smiley - cheers Jerms.

Interesting. John Wyndham wrote a story called "Pawley's Peepholes" about tourist-time travellers from the future.

The fundamental thing about time travel is that if it is possible, it will have been happening for millenia already.

Since there is no direct evidence of time travel, ("I am from the future, and Silly Old Nag won the 2.30 at Doncaster tomorrow"), either it is impossible, or it is well suppressed.

It is when we enter into the realms of suppressing time travel that we start having fun, because we enter into the realms of the human mi-i-i-i-i-nd. Human scepticism bangs hard up against human gullibility and what results is a morass of half-thought out conspiracy theories salted with a refusal to follow thoughts through to unpleasant conclusions.

As a proponant of the cock-up theory of history, my vote is that time travel, if possible at all, must be ludicrously expensive. I can see all attempts at time travel being abandoned, like the space programme, with only one or two clumsy anachronisms to be explained. And we - with our complete ability to blank out what we don't believe - actually provide the cover-up.

Just a theory.

What an odd thing to ramble on about at this time of day.

Ben
