A Conversation for Hellmans' Anachronism: an hypothesis about historical proof of future time travel (UG)

Brilliant
I also liked DNA's proposal that insurance forms are proof of time travel as well. No matter how carefully one reads an insurance policy, after any tragic accident, no matter how bizzare or unlikely or improbable, it will be found in the policy to be specifically excluded. The only thing that can account for this phenomenon is insurers using time travel to alter the policy after the accident but before you sign it, thus they are using time travel. QED

I remain very fond of this entry, and I still use the hypothesis to test out how flexible other peoples' thinking is. It fascinates me how people will happily discuss Time Travel as a scientific theory, but then instantly reject it as a culinary one.
And isn't DNA absolutely right about Insurance Claims? I wonder if the Insurance Companies will have actually sponsored the research?

Dang! Them's some mighty fine arguments you got there, Ben! I approve!
and I never realised mayonnaise was so darn tricky to make... respect!

Mayonnaise is the one thing that my culinarily-skilled hands (and brain) absolutely refuse to make, on account of the fact that, well, they can't.
On a point of interest, was mayonnaise not invented by Napolean Bonaparte to celebrate his victory at Mahon? Does this mean that the French have the secrets of time travel? Is this why they never do any work and just appear to sit around guzzling wine all day?

It was Mahon, but it was the Duc de Richelieu, apparently not Napoleon. Or more accurately his chef. It's footnoted in the entry anyway.
Glad you both like the entry.
At one point the PR conversation commented that it didn't give enough detail to qualify as a good recipe! I mean - ???
Cheers.

Well you would have been stuffed if it had been a recipe for popcorn then! How much detail can one possibly give?!

Hey, congrats on the UG listing. Thanks again for letting me use some of this on Wikipedia - the boring bits, that is...
