--and when driving long distances, the radio may need to be retuned to keep the same station. >> Actually, when driving long distances you should be prepared to find a new station on a fairly regular basis, I think the average radio station probably has a radius of approximately 150 miles.

--The content is limited to music and talk radio >> maybe it's just the market I'm in, but there's almost always some variety of sport on, as well.

--You mention that analog signal can be weakened when driving under overpasses or through tunnels, resulting in a static sound, but it's difficult to accept this as a drawback of traditional radio when you go on to say that satellite reception can be even more temperamental.

--Your intro deals with the drawbacks of analog radio mostly in cars, but your satellite installation information begins with home installation. I was thinking that it's impossible to aim a satellite receiver on a car, but then you didn't get to that until the following paragraph. Along with the drawbacks of analog, you can mention that a building's framework can interfere with radio reception, I get nearly twice as many stations in my car as I do at home.

That aside, there seems to be a wealth of really useful information in there smiley - ok. I've been hearing so much about HD radio lately, and have had no idea what it was. Really I thought it was just a much more powerful receiver capable of picking up signals that aren't strong enough to be picked up by a standard radio. Good job there smiley - cheers

I'll give this another read when it's not so late at night and I've had a bit more sleep smiley - yawn

smiley - cheers Milos, I'd forgotten about sports radio, as I tend to avoid it smiley - laugh.

Will see if I can tweak the paragraph about retuning when driving long distances - the trouble is, in the UK, 150 miles *is* a long distance.

I'll tweak the other bits mentioned, and add more about the interference issues (buildings etc).

I'm glad the bit on HD Radio made sense, though smiley - biggrin

Right, bits have been tweaked (oo-er).

I found some very useful links on interference for both digital and analogue, but they were extremely technical. Antenna technology is a really specialised area, so I didn't want to go into reams of detail as that would sidetrack the entry somewhat smiley - erm.

Does it still make sense?

Milos, are you happy with the changes that have been made to this entry? I got the impression that you want to come back to it from your posting.

Looks pretty good, with one exception:
>>The content is limited to music, sports and talk radio, both of which must be monitored
-- How about 'much of which must be monitored'?

smiley - ok
