I think this is because you've only looked a Peer Review - though even here there are people who write to entertain, or shock, as well as educate.

Have a look at a1053901 and there's loads like this.

Then there's all the clubs an societys - some more active than others.

Then again, if you've posted this here, you clearly haven't looked around enough, my friend, as Peer Review is not for this type of entry. You'd be better removing this from Peer Review and posting it to Ask h2g2.

For the record, while many would dispute your assessment, there's little wrong with being considered 'Radio 4'-ish. Radio 4 was the birthplace of The Hitchhiker's Guide after all.

I would second the proposal to move this to a discussion forum - click on the link to get to <./>Askh2g2</.>

As far as removing this query from Peer Review <./>DontPanic-ReviewForums#14</.> gives advice on how to do it.

As far as the Edited Guide part of h2g2 I would expect most entries to be earnest in their aim to inform - it is a guide after all (with <./>Writing-Guidelines</.&gt, though as Jimster says there are areas of h2g2 where researchers can discuss, play games, tell stories or simply chat.
