Changing the name of Thursday will not eradicate anything which may cause you distress. What it will do is upset Thor/Thur and angering a thunder god is not likely to make your life any better, is it?

It will. It will eradicate an extremely boring name. That's all it needs to do, really.

Thing... such simplicity, no specific religious connotation, and names that have a reason people nowadays can equate to rather than some hundreds of years old ancient... um... *Try to think up other word than 'Thing'*

It does seem odd given that we stopped worshipping Thor and 'is ilk' as you put it a long time ago.

ah that takes me back - to the days when our humble revolution was conceived. you sound like a Thingite already! But trust me Thing is pretty darn good and we're rather attached to it.

Believe me, I never cease to be amazed that so many people are prepared to think that renaming the weekdays is a good idea, but I started this, so I see it as my duty to welcome them all - and they keep coming.

and I've yet to see why some people think campaigning for "keeps things the same" "change is unhealthy" "we like having obscure norse mythologies inform our calendar!" is odder than campaign to change them to something as arbitary to be sure, but much, much more fun.

I'll forever be a Thingite, and never a Thursdayite. Occassionaly I ask other people to come along with me. sometimes they say yes.
