It's not a blizzard yet, wind is only 12-15 m/s, but it is going to turn into blizzard soon. It's too cold for such a wind here.
Christmas... We had all our relatives in our house during these days. Thanks God not all in the same time. It was a great fun too, but I hate dishwashing and playing children and toys and dogs under my feet. And we don't have plumbing in the house .
I'm definately NOT going to say at home at this weekend!

Thanks
You don't have plumbing? Oh dear... Relatives can be fun, but my they can be a pain as well.. It's nice with the holydays, but it's nice that they don't come more often as well... Big family? I don't think I could have handled dogs...

Oh, well...
I have 2 kids (10 and 4) and husband.
My big brother and his wife have 3 kids (3, 7 and 7 - twins) and a scotish terrier (1).
My husbands sister and her husband have one kid (3) but they will have the second one pretty soon.
And then there were my mother and her 86 years old aunt.
Thats all. (I'm lucky enough for not having any mother- or father-in-law.)
Oh, and some closest friends dropped in also.
I think I spent some 15 hours on cooking and 15 on dishwashing. Thank God, it's over. The first investment in the next year will be the plumbing!

*sips the now warm(er) coffee*

We moved in this house only 3 months ago, so almost everybody brought me all kind of household stuff. There were a 1 meter high light yellow vase - can you imagine it? - and a lot of pottery. I love it. Especially mugs.
IIEM, another coffee, please.
What about you?

I'm going abroad soon (I hope), so I didn't get anything big or anything... But I got a Leatherman Multitool.. A mans dreamtool! I love it..
*finishes cup*
Just moved in? Must be exciting.. I've actually never really moved.. except moving my bedroom around the house, but that doesn't count, does it?

Hi all!
Lil - I tried to reply to something on OTD and I got a reply saying:
"You recently sent a message,

to OTD. This is a restricted list, which means that only subscribers of the list can post to it. Our records indicate that you
are not a member of the list."
So, is there anything up with OTD atm?

Marv, your xmission address was automatically put on hold by Topica because
of undeliverable mail. I await your instruction.
Bluebottle is also on hold, probably because he's gone away for the hols and
his inbox is full.

Does this help?

Jar, it was a red gnome! Not a rose.
Sweet indeed....
The good thing is that they are made of ceramics. Delicate and breakable....
I know I'm ungrateful but I just can't stand small figurines.
Congrats with the new house Hatifnat

Thanks!
My "new" house is more than 60 yrs old and nobody has done any renovating there. It's like a time-travelling, you know - How the life was before WW2. I love it (with some exeptions - e.g. I really miss the plumbing and WC).It is my very first house. (the bank owns it too - that's a life )

Bumblebee: Ops... it's the rum, the season, the time of day!! (Oh dear.. I'm not a good reader today..) Two gnomes on a single day can be much....
Bluebottle: Thanks! Mind if I make it "to go"? I need to be moving on now... I have adopted the lifestyle of a pilgrim, allthough I have no idea where my pilgrimage will take me...
Hatifnat: Life before WW2? Romantic, yet impractical.. Plumbing cannot be overrated... My father and (evol) step-mother insists on living in an age old house (build somewhere around 1600).. It's very nice and old and romantic and historical, but nevertheless extremely cold in the winter....
Oh well.. all that aside.. It's time for me to get my staff and be going. I don't know when I'll be back, for now I must roam the world a bit... I'll try to stop by any time I'm online. It's been a blast (in a positive way) to get to know you all! Say hi to those not here, will ya?
*pulls hood over head, picks up walkingstaff (no, not stick, staff, the kind you can use to fight your way over narrow bridges should the need arise) and tea-to-go, offers everyone a and walks out door*

Hatifnat, I hope it won't be too expensive to hook up with the public watersystem.
My sister only has a well and it dries out every summer. Very inconvenient.
I lived half a year in a cabin without plumbing and wc. It's allright if you are alone but I can't imagine that way of living now! I guess I'm not into time travelling afterall...
