Er... good question. So far I'm just going round telling people there should be more oak trees. Hmmm... can you plant any?

Not just at the moment; it's -20°C, so any attempt at digging is like cutting diamonds... something one should try to avoid having to do with a shovel. I agree there should be more oaks. I'll see what I can do about planting one in the spring.smiley - smiley Can I interest you in writing something stirring on the subject for the TGD benches?

Now appearing for your viewing pleasure, a delight to the senses and a tonic for the soul (with a new, even friendlier, introduction)...

'"Butterfly"'
'Sad, Isn't It?'
'God's Own Summer'
'Life Goes On...'
'Ginkgo the Rushes-Ho'
'This Century Passing'
'Sanskrit Proverb'

Enjoy.smiley - smiley

If 'a while' is a while ago, check back; there is now a bench #2 (although there is still space for small pots on the first bench).smiley - bigeyes

I rather enjoyed the second bench - however, it made me sad to think that I might be one of those poor souls who gets off the train everyday (even if I drive a car).

I will mention the dugout in the next newsletter, as there is much to read and think about here smiley - smiley

Why thank you John......it's too bad that I have to think about things "the man" wants me to think about for at least 40 hours a week.....

Let's tell the "man" to shove it, and go pick apples with Looney. I don't really have to think for the "man" (more sort of dream, really), but I do have to prune for a nasty, schizophrenic gestalt, who don't show my gardens their due respect. 40 hours of thinking for somebody else seems almost saintly; I don't think many people are anywhere near that generous with their brain time.smiley - winkeye

Thanks for the mention in the Misfits Newsletter (which is what I had intended to say first).smiley - smiley

Sorry. I suppose a nasty, schizophrenic gestalt doesn't... Must be careful not to propagate NSGs. We don't want them spreading around the greenhouse.smiley - winkeye

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!"

Hi everyone,

Just popped by to ask anyone who hasn't already signed the
h2g2 Amnesty International Petition to please do so...

"We, the undersigned, support the aims of Amnesty International
and the freedoms enshrined in the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. We call for the freeing of all prisoners of
conscience; the right to fair and prompt trials for political
prisoners; the abolition of the death penalty, torture and other
cruel treatment of prisoners; and the end of political killings and
human rights abuses.
