This is a Flea Market Rescue.
Original Entry here: A19878529
Original PR thread here: F6611955?thread=3892116
Original author credited and contacted.
I've fleshed it out a little and changed the title so as not to actually get this Entry confused with one about treehouses in general

Hi Matt - good rescue
lying about... or lying around...
A bit of a repetitive link between wood and trees, there.
What's the link between the nice rug and the naughty posters? - I didn't get it.

There is a very good Gene Wolfe story called 'Paul's Treehouse'. I read it years ago but you can read it here:

So, where else do treehouses crop up in fiction, I wonder?

You suggest that a candle should be used for lighting, but also that candles should not under any circumstances be lit in a treehouse.

Nice, Matt, I like it. I'm not sure about the title though, surely the Palace Treehouses would be used more by adults? Are you just including that for the contrast? Given that we don't actually have an entry on treehouses in general, why not just call it 'Treehouses'? It seems to cover everything.
Are there any circumstances in which treehouses might require planning permission?

Thanks E.
I think I went with Children's Treehouses to exclude the need to write anything about the history of people who live in trees, and make the Entry into something it shouldn't - (eg. a bland facts for the sake of facts load of waffle).
The Palace Treehouse probably needs to be explained more, I'll attend to that

Fairy Nuff lives in a treehouse. She has trouble keeping it clean though, aphids use her flowerboxes for litter boxes...

Good rescue, Matt, just two small things and this should be ready to go, I think:
>> parents or siblings belongings << - parents' or siblings' belongings
>>family home or a building in thier own right<< - their

Excellent rescue, Matt.
One typo: every little kids' dream, as they speak (extraneous comma there, methinks)
One quibble: childhood gang/club (could you pretty please drop the word 'gang'? icky word reminiscent of nasty stuff older kids get up to. I'm on a campaign to eradicate it from everyday usage )
Other than that, 'tis brill

There we go, fixed up those bits and pieces, and nailed an old hat that looks like it used to be mink to the door.
I'm happy with it now Icy, yes

Looking good! Although, I must say I'm very cross with you for making me nostalgic for the treehouse I never had...
Just a few queries:
Intro 1st line: [every little kid's dream]
Intro 2nd line: (and of climbing trees)?
The Den 2nd line: (and they provide much needed shelter)?
Intro last para 1st line: (are also havens)? Below is the whole paragraph incorporating suggested changes. What do you think?
(Both types of treehouse are also havens for childhood friends; places where parents or adults are only allowed if they come offering gifts of cakes or lemonade; somewhere you can conspire against the weird neighbours, gossip about the new boy at school, or just simply keep things secret.)?
Construction Materials 2nd para 2nd line: (to find and shape)?
The Palace Build 1st sentence:
(Palace Treehouses are of a superior quality and design (and inferior in excitement). For this reason they are more commonly found in affluent areas and require planning permission as they are, for arguments sake, either an extension to the family home or a building in their own right.)? (Very slightly reworded to reduce the 50-word sentence).
