Sorry,, I was getting to know a precocious kitten for the last week. My net access from home is out because my provider sucks so I was not online at all for the last week. I am *still* catching up on email.

Natalya, the Impaler. She is a calico monster with too sharp claws. That little kitten at Red's poisoned me with the "Kittens are cute" virus . And before you ask, she is named after a character in a computer game hehehehehe.

Well, Kaleah's growing up now and is in the awkward stage. She's all legs and feet. And, since she's a polydactyl cat, they're REALLY BIG feet.
And here I thought your cat after somebody in one of your soap operas... So, how is your new baby? I'm sure you have some stories!

Whoops...please interject "you'd name" before "your cat" and after "thought". Brain fart! Pfffffftttttttttt!

Well she has a predeliction for launching herself at my feet whenever she is awake. As far as I can determine she has two modes, Attack and Rechange (sleeping). I hope she grows out of this phase soon. Only one "accident" on my bedspread so far and she seems to have figured out that the litterbox can indeed be used for it's intended purpose.

Can you blame her for attacking your feet? They *are* pretty scary!
BTW--WE STILL ARE HAVING THE BAKE-OFF! BRING US YOUR BROWNIES!!! AND MILK!!!
Ahem. Anyway, is she letting you sleep at night? Or is it playtime for Natalya (I hope I have it spelled right)? You should be happy with this phase. For many years she will be in the same phase as my cats. Sleep, sleep, and more sleep.

Rest assured that I am not sleeping due to a little monster with no manners. As much as I enjoy her, she is a handfull. Remind me to *never* have kids.

But when she purrs at you and wears that sweet kitten face they all have, I'm sure you forgive her for your lack of sleep.
That's ok. I'll be in the same boat even more so in a few months. We're going to get two kittens - so they can keep each other company while we're at work...

Mew!
Just wait. You'll start carrying her picture in your wallet. And saying "Daddy's home" when you walk in the door.

Somehow I doubt it. I think that me poking my head in the door looking for the attack that is destined for my feet id far mnore likely.
She is a little monster, that is for sure. I still like her however. Espically when she is sleeping

Trust me. It'll happen. George used to chew on my ears while I was sleeping, but he was most definitely my little boy. (He's a grand old man now. My parents say that he's actually calmed down. )

Lucy (who turned 15 in May) is really lovey-dovey at night. If I stir at all in my sleep, she's right there, waking me up to snuggle. Toshi (who will be 15 in September) is better about letting me sleep--she's so lazy she'll stay under the covers long after I get up and about.

George, who turned 13 in April, actually sleeps at night now, which came as quite a shock for me. Dumb-dumb, 15 last month, (and yes the 'b's are supposed to be there) has gotten portly enough that she has trouble jumping up on the bed. This simply has the effect that she never gets off. (The reason she has gotten as large as she has is because she finally - after more than a year - realized that the automatic feeder my parents got for the cats wasn't a scary monster out to get her...)

Natalya was an absolute terror last night. I did not get any real sleep till about 5 this morning. There has to be *some* way of calming a kitten, though I do not know the way to do it.

Play with her - good active play - for about 30 minuts before you head to bed. that should hlp tire her out, at least for a while. If its too much play, she'll fall asleep before the 30 minutes are up. If its not enough, you can increase it the next night. That should give you at least a bit more sleep.
