It's a bit terse. Also, the style is rather fragmented, if you don't mind me saying. I think I know a thing or two about the house style here, and you might be better off with a rather more explanatory tone, see A1304858 for an example (wot I wrote).

An interesting description of a phenomenon I was unaware of . Difficult to explain easily without diagrams too.
I've been to Lulworth Cove, which as I recall is almost a circular bite from the Dorset coastline. I'm having trouble visualizing how a wave (which is effectively straight when coming from the sea isn't it?) can hit a curved beach at a perpendicular angle. There are a few bits of jargon unexplained in your entry - longshore and planform. One can guess their meaning from the context, but it would be nice for their meaning to be explicit.
Suggestion: replace 'transport' and 'sediment transport' with 'drift'
This could be made into a more comprehensive entry that explains how beaches are formed or organised. I remember beaches being used as an example of a natural sieve, where components get sorted by the wave action into bands of different sizes.

I agree with both of the above comments, Matthew.
It might be good to add a link or two, if there are suitable ones.

Sorry guys! I am still here, but everytime I try to upload the update the page crashes. No idea why. I will keep trying. I suspect that even this messgae won't get uploaded.
Time to buy a new computer....

Hi! I have now updated the page! Wahoo! For some reason the only way I could upload it was to rename the entry "Beaches". I have adjusted the content accordingly.
Appologies for the delay. I could list excuses, but who cares - it is done now.

The entry looks a lot better now, Matthew.
It would be good to incorporate Pimm's suggestion about beaches acting as a sieve and to have some links.
You mention the protection aspect of beaches, but not really how this works. Again, it would be good to expand a little.
Hope you get the new computer!

No suggestions at this point on how to improve the readability (a little point-biased at the moment IMHO ).
Just wanted to suggest that the entry appears to have left Peer Review, so you might wish to resubmit it (if you think it is finished - you can submit it to the Writing Workshop, but sometimes this is a little discouraging as it is a quieter forum).
