Presenting Roswell - a lovely little cow-town in Southeastern New Mexico.
Enjoy

I did enjoy it.
Is Scoville scale a commonly known expression? I looked it up, so I know now what it is. If it's not just me, maybe a brief explanation wouldn't go amiss.

I really like this - it's such a smooth piece of writing - well done!
The only thing I could suggest is that you try to work in a few more facts about the town. I don't know how big it is, or what the people there do for a living. Don't disrupt the flow, though.

Nice one!!
Easy to read, well structured and entertaining.
I have wondered how a town copes with such notority, but there is so much more Roswell has to offer.
Sounds like a lovely place, thanks for making the entry

Thanks
I'll get a little time this evening to add an informative link for 'Scoville' - and peppers generally.
Also, I'll work in all the usual demographic data here and there so it's not all at once.
The mayor was initially against the annual UFO festival because he was very concerned about the notoriety - but it's been a real economic boon.

Very good (I always wanted to visit, I do even more now)
You forgot one of my entries A13745991 - bottled water - for the last section.

You know, whenever I hear Roswell, I associate Area 51. I looked it up today, to find that it's not even close
Me and my lack of geographical knowledge.
But - I learnt something.

The supposed crash site isn't all that close either really. That's why I chose the word 'trajectory' at the start of the entry.

I've tweaked the last section, added Pecans, and improved the ending a bit.
I'm still putting together some statistics to sprinkle in, and want to compare the Pecos with, say the Thames. Can anyone help me find the source for reliable flow statistics for the Thames. Here, the USGS (the geological survey) keeps such data. Who does it in UK? - (so far it APPEARS that the thames flows about 20 times as much as the Pecos, but I would have thought it was much more than that). Thanks

Well, that's a question for the UK residents.
It reads well, I like the changes you've made to the last paragraph.

Btw I don't know why it didn't occur to me () that the british geological survey would be called the 'British Geological Survey' (), but that quickly led down a trail to the info I was looking for. ()
(i could blame this lapse on the lateness of the evening, but i'm an idiot first thing in the morning and from then on, too.)

pailaway, this is brilliant stuff! Love it.
Your ending is perfect.
I'll try to come up with something more constructive later.

Thanks everyone
The whole time I worked in Roswell, it never occurred to me that it would be that great a place to visit - but once I was standing in line to purchase a few alien postcards and the fellow in front of me blurted out, 'I'm here from Australia. It's my fifth time. I brought some friends, We love it.' So, I had to start wondering why, and now here's the result.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
