I was a bit put out that the new Vanquish wasn't at the show.

The bikini's weren't necessary for those of us who actually wanted to look at the cars not some half nude woman...it's not like the blokes were dressed up to look foolish.

The bike shows on between 11/11/2000 and 19/11/2000 at the wonderful NEC, which for the record is so much better than Earls Court and whatever possesses them to stick the motorshow there every other year is beyond me

What type of bike is it?

Yeah! Goto the Bike show! It'll be fun

It's a 21 year old little Honda CB100N in light blue. And it's very cute I've had to do a lot of work on it like getting new exhaust, lights, reboared engine, etc.... I also found a colour to match it and did the front mud guard the same colour

I recently got a new ARIA helmet, but it looks to flashy for the bike... so I'm thinking of getting a new bike to go with it

They did have some preview bikes at the motor show and the ranges did look quite good...

What sort of power does it have? BHP? CC's?

Power!???? *Chuckles* ... Umm, 100cc ... so it's nothing at all impressive... But I can still out accelerate most cars
The Helmet. Has black and white checkered patter from the front upto the top of the visor, where there are added sweeping stripes over the top, to the back. On the sides are a blue design with various stripes and things... There are also the full compliment of vents, channels and wind guards on it aslwell...
You can ask as many questions as you like... I don't mind...

My car has an interesting power problem in that from 0-10mph it takes about 5 minutes and all the cars behind you start looking as if they're about to overtake but then you get to a dual carriageway and from chugging along off the roundabout to the sliproad it suddenly accelerates up to 70mph in about half a second...it's so funny to watch the cars behind as I left a BMW Z3 standing the other day and the poor bloke looked so confused

I suspect the questions would become annoying after a while...they work in tandem with grinning

I'm sure there might be others around that would goto the bike show.... And I'm sure the Peta and Abi wouldn't mind....

I played with the new Elise And they gave me a really cool Lotus CDRom and screensaver...and oohooh such a cool promotional gift puzzle thingy whereby you pull a little tab thing and the old black and white Elise vanishes to reveal a pretty shiny blue new Elise But now it looks too much like the VX220..

The bike show does sound good...and I was invited by other people too...

My car is novel, my best mate calls it the cement mixer but he's never actually been in it as he refuses point blank but it did 600 miles in 4 days which isn't much but it normally does about 20 a day and didn't complain once...course it broke down yesterday but still

I think I'd have to agree on the similarity between the new Elise and the VX220... Although I think it has as much to do with the way an awful lot of car designers are taking a lot of design features from the Ford new edge stuff.

Lotus did this with the M250 and now the new Elise. The fact that the VX220 does something very similar inevitably means it's going to look a lot like the new Elise, since you've got essentially the same design ideas wrapped around essentially the same car...

I quite like the current Ford design. (The Focus looks a whole load better than the outgoing Escort for example.) But I'm not so sure that it's the right way to go for Lotus - whatever you might think about the appearance of the old Elise (and it certainly polarises opinion) it's distinctive. But I think some people in Lotus think it's a little too retro.

Well they were designed by the same people but it was just actually looking at the two together that really made me see the similarities

I trouble with the Fords was that they were surrounded by BMW's and to get to the hall with the Fords in you had to go past the Ferrari's, the Loti ( ) and the TVR's to name a few so by the time you got to it they just looked normal in comparison. But after the RCA course I did appreciate many of the features on the Ford and to my horror I even found my self looking at the headlight design

And as for Lotus with a retro look, they had a fluorescent orange one which was so manky looking
