Thank you But I'm quite cheerful as it doesn't hurt unless I move...and I reckon I can still drive as long as I avoid over use of the break or accelerator
*grins*
Only 4? I am slipping... actually I suspect it was to do with the numbing spray which smelt awfully like fly repellent...
I can't watch much on Channel 5, baseball is all I can actually view and even then it looks as if they're playing in a blizzard...I can vaguely watch the Oprah show as the sound's fine but the only bit it's possible to make out is her cardigan and that's only if she's wearing green or red

Oh right those sort of chat shows
Do you see Damon Hill on Clarkson last week? I hardly recognised him...

*grins*
So that's a yes then I wonder how many takes it took before he managed to drive effectively and hit that target?
*restrains herself from making Hill jokes but mutters anyway*
Jacques should have won it...

Bagpuss Posted Nov 15, 2000
Erm, if you restrained yourself, shouldn't you have not made the joke.
And I'm with Menza re Parky, quality programming.

*growls*
Jacques winning the 96 world championship is not a joke, he should have won it as he was the better driver.

Bagpuss Posted Nov 15, 2000
Actually, I meant the Damon joke, but if I've managed to wind you up, that's much more fun; I'll continue:
Better driver than whom? Yukio Katayama?

*growls slightly louder and twitches her Ferrari flagpole*
Yes as it happens he was a better driver than him but likewise he was a better driver than Damon Hill who won the championship out of default because Jacques car coincidentally kept breaking down whenever he was ahead of Damon and I might add had he not broken down in Suzuka then he would have won the championship as he'd had a significantly better season then Mr Hill... and further more I might add that you'll notice Jacques drove the Williams to victory in 97...

*stops fuming but keeps her hand on the flagpole just incase this is a trick*
Thank you for the drink

Bagpuss Posted Nov 16, 2000
*not a trick, ok?*
That's all right. Changing the subject slightly, did you read about the Aussie rally? Sounds hilarious, I'm going to try not to miss it on the beeb.

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 16, 2000
*growls again*
As Richard Burns is my rallying hero it may be wise not to mention the appalling rally of Australia in which the true victor was swindled and the true World Champion was robbed...SHENANIGANS!
*apologises for suspecting it could be a trick*

Bagpuss Posted Nov 17, 2000
To be fair, isn't Burns the one who stopped to change a tyre in order to waste his lead. Anyway, I'm still hoping he'll win, after all, the next one's the RAC, which is his home rally.
*accepts apology and fetches more drink *

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Nov 17, 2000
No he did not waste his lead and if he doesn't win the championship then my jinx on drivers will have come completely true and I'm going to have to restrain myself from wishing any of them good luck again
*gratefully takes the and downs it before going off to find some more*
Y'know there's nothing more disheartening than being forced to go food shopping on a Friday night as your cars in the garage and none of the trains are working again yet so you can't get anywhere...and worse still is when you get there and find they have a continueing spool on with Celine Dion songs and Leanne Rhimes

Ah, now you clearly haven't been in Jackson's at around Christmas time. Carol service favourites arranged for the Hammond organ, anyone?
Fiona, I'm only vaguely remembering the article I read, so I'll apologise for any errors I made, but I'm sure Burns wasn't entirely innocent of such shennanigans. Still, he definitely has a good chance (I hope)
