Yes, Turkey apparently one of the top eight footballing nations in Europe. How nice to see that they haven't let the disadvantage of not actually being in Europe stop them. At least you can be pretty sure they're not going to win Eurovision...

Turkey is partially still in Europe. The Istanbul side of the Bosphurus counts as mainland europe. Just be thankful the Ottoman's didn't succeed in making us all Turks, is all I can say.

Isreal only count because none of their Arab neighbours want to play with them. 
So they came to Europe to say can we join in and being the soft touch western democracies taht we are we said yes.

Correct. In fact Bucks Fizz won in Isreal after they'd won it one year.
