I've just cooked and eaten chicken in a cider sauce, which smells digusting as it's being cooked but tastes delicious... very convenient. smiley - smiley

The only problem with food that smells good as you are cooking it is that by the time it comes to eat it you are so hungry that you just stuff it down your neck without tasting it properly.

Ahhh thank you kindly. you really arn't missing out on the film, it's a big explosiojn with some comercials thrown in. Watching Peirs Brosnen pretend to be 007 was fun for the first movie, but latly scharzenager has more subilty than james bond.

The earlier films were definalty the best, the most recent ones have just been pleasant eye candy. It doesn't quite have the same style as Mr Connery. smiley - smiley

not any longer, anyway.

it was very nice, but was surplus to the requirements of the cake - ie it woudn't fit on the cake - and thus was spare

I've just realised I haven't been around for 3 days! What have you all been eating?!?!

Well, to salve your appetites, tonight for dinner, being Saturday and a nice day, we are having chicken. That is, chicken in red wine with a variety of veg in red wine served with buttered white cabbage and freshly baked bread.
The chicken and veg are already drowning in the wine and will continue to do so for a total of 9 hours. The "veg" are onion, mushroom, peas, sweetcorn, green beans, brocolli, carrot and something else, I've forgotten.

Sorry about the lack of a vegetarian option today, but unusually none of my dinner guests are veggie.

The starter is fresh spinach pasta parcels with a (vegetarian) cheese and pesto filling served with a light tomato and pepper sauce. You could have extra of that for your main course and go with the fresh melon to start, if you want.

Pudding is veggie definitely, but no chocolate in it today. It will be an eggless plum cobbler served with extra thick double cream.
Eggless as I can't be bothered to go shopping again.

Enjoy smiley - smiley
