h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Essentially, I want to know people's reactions to adopting as an official new smiley. If you think it's a lousy idea, let me know, or if there are any technical reasons, let me know. But I think makes a good pint glass, so why not use it, at least here in the Forum & Firkin?

See if you can get everyone to comment in THIS conversation, so I can recommend it for inspection - it's easier than having everyone say "it's a good idea" in different ones.

So the official idea so far is:

for a pint

for coffee/tea

for spirits etc

|_| for lemonade, coke etc.

And don't forget the ginger beer for Mad Hatter, in the |_| naturally.

Right folkes we just need an official name for the new smilies, as they aren't technically smilies. Any ideas?

I've still got no idea - but here's an update on the cup variations:

c\__/ = Double measure

c|_/ = Pitcher

Not sure about the double measure, it could lead to very long smilies.

I take your point about the double measure - but you must thank Mustapha for the pitcher idea. It's really catching on, this, ain't it?

That's what happends when one small idea comes up and lost of people start throwing it around.

I've done the beer smilie, but I wont post it till I have more of a selection. I'm having lots of trouble getting the other glasses to look right.

I did but things have conspired against me to be able to post them. Either I spend the weekend away, or I'm ill or the ISP packs up. I'll try to get as many as possible up this weekend, if I have time.
