It was a good race to watch and qualifying was great, it just would have been a much less one-sided race if DC had actually started from pole.

But whilst ever Schumacher wins, everyone will always assume it's a bad race as he's so talented that he is possible of commanding the race from start to finish, it doesn't mean it's any less of a race just proves his skill

But everyone wants to see the big position battle at the front of the race, not the back.

But the race at the back was just as interesting, I thought it was good to get to see some of other drivers racing for a change

If Schumi is so talented, why is it that whenever his team mate gets in front of him, he's instructed to move over and let Schumi win?

It must be said that you only usually see the other teams if they spin off, crash or get lapped.

It's not always whenever and if Schumacher had raced for it he would have won, it was only because Montoya drove him off the track that he wasn't leading the race anyway. Barrichello knew that it was part of his contract when he signed, it specifically states that if Schumacher's potentially faster towards the end of a race he has to let him through. It happens in most teams no matter what they said, remember Hill at Spa for Jordan? Ralph was much faster but he was told to stay back and not overtake as it's a team sport. If Barrichello had moved over straight away Schumacher had a fair chance of catching DC and thus would have gained more points for the team... Having said that even I thought it was too early in the season for team orders to come into play but they did it at McLaren in the first race of the season, gentlemans agreement or not, it still had the same effect.

Doc V - the deal with Monaco is basically money. This is THE big weekend in the principality, and everyone from Prince Rainier down will fight tooth and nail to keep the event going, despite the teams grumbles about the cramped conditions. That's why next year there will be improved (i.e. expanded) pit facilities, though the only way I think they could do that is to build vertically...?
There's also the drivers to take account of. Two points: 1) A fair chunk of them actually stay in and around Monte Carlo, which makes it easy in a domestic sense. This is good, because 2) it's a bloody difficult circuit, as today's almost-halving of the field demonstrates, but they love it because it's a challenge.
I'm guessing DC loves it slightly less tonight, but that he hates the rear end of the Arrows more.

It was everything I hoped for! Eddie and Michael rubbing shoulders on the podium again. Shoulda put money on that one.
Bernoldi had balls and he had fun. That's what racing's all about. In spite of the ill-informed blue flag waving Marshall and DC's 'efforts' he held off 'the contender'.
God bless Kimi - the only Monaco rookie who didn't really crash.
As your resident Canadian, I'll be opening a Canadian GP thread right away. All questions about Canada, Montreal etc will be answered in my usual cheerful and succint manner.

Well... I never did much like Monaco... At least you could ignore the fact that there were a couple of Ferraris ambling round, and enjoy the race proper.
