If you mention Youssou N'Dour, you might also want to mention Paula Cole, who's had a solo career after being part of the PG live band.
I've seen "Don't Give Up" on the Secret World DVD, and it moves me to tears every time I see it. Heck, it moves me to tears even to *remember* it.

Greetings Sten.
I'd say Paula Cole just about blows Kate Bush right out of the water with that performance. I remember catching Secret World on TV, then rushing out to buy the CD, and soon after the Video. 
Gonna have to dig it out now, the whole thing is great!
I was really pleased to see Paula with solo stuff out, This Fire is a really great album, one I recommend to anyone who will listen 
. Harbinger has some great stuff on it too.
I'm not too keen on Amen though, little too godsy for my taste. I will be looking out to see what she get's up to next though
