Sten's Space
Sten
The nickname “Sten” comes originally from a series of science-fiction novels by Allan Cole and Chris Bunch. The protagonist is a guy called “Sten”, who is a person with certain unusual abilities, but who still has some great friends and a good sense of humour.
Sten could also plausibly be an abbreviation of my real name.
My interests include:
- Computer Science and Mathematics. In fact, I am a professional computer scientist with a special interest in security and cryptography.
- Music. I play the electric guitar and I have a soft spot for classic rock, like (in no particular order) Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, and Genesis. Of the new stuff, I like so-called Prog Rock very much (Flower Kings, Spock's Beard), but also listen to Nirvana, Foo Fighters, King's X, Mark Knopfler, Jeff Beck, Beck, Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, Prince, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Leo Kottke and the like. I'm not much of a jazz fan, although I like Miles Davis stuff and adore Django Reinhardt.
- Archery. I have a 35lb. longbow that I shoot less often than I'd like to.
- Walking. That is my name for what others call hiking. But hiking sounds like work and that's not at all what I mean.
To be continued...

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
