Uncle Alex is a nickname I've been given refering to the character Alex in the Anthony Burgess novel 'A Clockwork Orange'. A great read!

Your nickname is Alex because of the character in A Clockwork Orange? Well, that's synchronicity: on a well-known online auction platform (don't want to mention the actual URL for fear that spam-sending morons will go take a look), my nickname is alexander.delarge. I don't remember whether Alex's full name is ever mentioned in the book, but that's his name in the movie.

No, I don't think it is mentioned in the book... He does call himself 'Alexander The Large' in the chapter where he 'deflowers' the 12 year olds... Methink Alexander DeLarge was a Kubrick joke...
