However, Abby, who is also Lochangel, Venus in Furs, Samuel Pepys, Woman Lovingly Sculpted in the style of Bolero etc is very female. I should know - I have met her.

Between Nonnie's tea and Blue's explanation, I've now got it.
I thought the Grim Squeaker might be some sort of supernatrual mouse from Secret of NIMH or some other mouse-type movie........
