Sorry it took a few more days. I think I've fixed the parallax - can someone have a look and see if it's any better?

I think I've got all those, thank you.

=============================

Everything except the moose/elk/deer/reindeer puzzle...

The 'moose' came from the original entry, 'elk' was from a couple of my other sources.
There's a conversation on the HooToo entry on Moose that states the picture isn't very good, and is probably a reindeer and details the confusion between alg, moose, and elk.

"The creature called elk in Europe is a member of the species (Alces alces) known in North America as moose." Britannica.com via answers.com. I'm going with Gnomon, and calling it Elk throughout.

It may be a tad flippant with the footnote, and I think Elk-owner has less of a ring to it than moose-owner smiley - winkeye but there we go. This is about Tycho, not deer smiley - biggrin

looks good to me. I'll accept it being an elk throughout. As you say this is an article on the man not his pet. I also think it looks better without the hyperlink in the intro.

Gnomon - time to move on

I don't think your explanation of parallax is quite as good as it could be:

"Parallax is where an object, in this case a star is seen to apparently move as a result of the perspective of the observer changing (such as the Earth's orbit)"

First, put a comma after star.

the perspective of the observer --> the viewpoint of the observer

(such as the Earth's orbit) --> (such as the Earth moving from one extreme of its orbit to the other)

I think that should do it.

sorry to seem picky but in the paragraph about the death of the elk
you state
note the change in Capitalization. I don't know if BBC requires capitals for nouns specifying mammals but I am sure they would want you to be consistant.

Thank you for the help with parallax Gnomon. smiley - cheers

Shagbark - capitals removed from the elk, and I've disciplined the typist smiley - winkeye for the shoddy work!

Any more for any more?
