Doesn't sound like it.
The reason people enjoy riding them so much is because they're fun and can halve journey times through cities. I'm a fair weather rider, so I don't get wet (often), and I also drive a car, so I can appreciate the benefits of both.
I don't see why you have such a problem with motorcyclists. If you ask me, the majority of the time its car drivers who are a menace on the roads. Their awareness is abysmal (hence a new advertising campaign to get drivers to look out for motorcyclists).
Why don't you try riding one some day, it might change your view of things.
Also, with the levels of congestion on the roads today, I think that motorcycles are totally necessary. They have lower emissions, and take up less space on our roads.
