Photographer Members - Please add details/discussion for Matches

Emmily - I'll have a go at taking photos for Matches. I'll try to submit to Yahoo Files by the end of next week.

I've uploaded two photos of matches being struck. They're in the folder on the Yahoo group, named Match3 and Match4. I like them, but I'm worried that the matchstick itself is a bit obscured by the flame. The photos look better when cropped a bit wider so that you can see my friend's arm instead of just his disembodied hand, but then it's even harder to see the match.

Any comments? Criticisms? Much better photos?

I'm just playing with matches. I noticed that you can't make many pictures until you have to be afraid to burn your fingers.

I'm dropping out of this category, I won't be submitting any photos to Matches.

I think we have enough good quality photos of matches to close and go to voting now...anyone object?

Oh, and Tav, I used Blu-tack to hold three matches before I lit them, but one kept going out, so I gave up. Was going to try again tomorrow, won't be now though.

I was grateful for the 20cm long matches, else I'd have burnt my fingers.

That's why I got a friend to light the matches for me.

Emmily, would you be able to remove the first of my match photos from the voting folder? I uploaded both of them because I couldn't decide between them, but they really are too similar.

Matches 1 is terrific, but it needs a tighter crop. Aurora, could you upload or email me a full-size version so I can show you what I mean?

I too think it could be cropped a little more - just a little though. It looks good with the black around the edge. The lighting is great.

I'm confused - there are two lots, and the names coincide. I mean the one with the hand at the bottom.

The ones with the hand aren't mine... but they're great.
