I know it doesn't describe the situation where the statement would be true but I couldn't resist it smiley - smiley.

I have a few questions of my own relating to that statement:

If there is no universe, can there be a 'today'?
If there is no 'today', can there be a 'yesterday'?
Can the statement exist if there is no universe?

Hmmmm.....

I think, if we are to continue this discussion, we'll have to create an entirely new form of tense. Past tense dosn't fit. Niether does present. Nevertense? There's one for the linguists.

Perhaps some offshoot of the subjunctive - which confuses people anyway - Especially those, like me, brought up speaking English.
