A Conversation for I think, therefore......er......something

Its all just a joke!!!
Just a joke gone horribly wrong.
Run for your life!!!!
The mind has broken from its cell
and it runs rampant on the world
AAARRGGGHHHH!!!!!
It would be thoughtless to try to change
what a person thinks about what a person thinks he thinks
at least that is what I think, I think.
I thought I thought what I think you think,
but now is what I think what I thought.
I'll have to ponder that.
Man, What was I thinking??

Lupa Mirabilis, Serious Inquisitor Posted Nov 20, 1999
Only you can figure that out. Good luck....

Any more philosophy-bashers out there?

Well, I was going to write a little bit about phone sanitizers, but then I decided not too. Then jabbman askes why did I think about not thinking about the thought. Then I replied that not only did think about not thinking about the thought, but that I assumed that he would think about thinking to ask me about why I decided to think to not think about the thought.
To that he replied, ok, sure. But how did you know to asmmue that...
All in all I decided to write out after all that philosophers have as much use as phone sanitizers, but it takes more thought to clean phones.
Philosophers have as much use as phone sanitizers, but it takes more thought to clean phones.
I hope I wrote that right, I think... Left? ^_^

It takes more thought to clean a phone than to ponder the mysteries of life itself? Tell me, can a five-year-old do the latter?
Philosophy
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Nov 21, 1999
I don't know, but I've never cleaned a phone in my life, yet I ponder it's meaning often. It's my philosophy that philosophy is something of an instinct, or some sort of human nature...

Well, a little kid doesn't have to ponder about life mysteries, that little lid has better thngs to do like playing outside or a video game.
Of course, kids usually do not have to clean phones, either.

Here's a good one from Bruce Lee
He who knows not, but knows not he knows not, knows not he is a fool. SHUN HIM!

I agree. It may be that there are people who never sit down and think about things like who they are and what life is all about, but I think it's pretty unlikely. The problem is that some people aren't aware of this--and then when they meet someone who does his/her pondering out loud, they think of this as pretentious.

At the end of the day, humans have been on this Earth for an indefinate time, in the thousands or millions of years, and there are currently 6 billion of us.... At the end of the day, do you know how hard it is to have an original thought?
Philosophy
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Feb 1, 2000
Or to start a sentence without "At the end of the day"?
Here's an original thought. . . or, there will be one here as soon as I think of one.

Here's an original thought:
jog selfish eat a fish go round up yellow pig knife hedgehog.
Philosophy
Bluebottle Posted Feb 2, 2000
Ah - but I thought of that lots when I was a kid, so it's not an original thought.
Philosophy
The Ghost Of TV's Frink Posted Feb 3, 2000
I thought that originally, then changed my mind.

Lupa Mirabilis, Serious Inquisitor Posted Feb 5, 2000
Well, given that a sentence can be infinitely long, there are thus infinitely many sentences that can be written. So it's not _impossible_ to have an original thought....
Philosophy
BluesSlider Posted Feb 8, 2000
OK, a sentence is only an articulation of a thought, used as a medium to present that thought to others, usually in an attempt to enroll others into a model of the world which matches your own. Each and every thought is original and unique because of its origin in self. You cannot be me, and I cannot be you.
The articulation of your thoughts may have a commonality with another's articulation of their thoughts but the thought itself is original.
So, while I don't necessarily agree with your premise, and therefore the derivation of your conclusion, I would turn the argument into it being impossible to have an un-original thought.
Now, original ideas and theories, that's a whole different ball-game
