Who's Who?? & We Want DNA!

Here's ours (the fans') chance to make a difference....

If you really want to see a good film made of the Guide, please put down who you think should play the different characters, noting that only major characters should be put down. There's no point in giving ideas for each of the Krikkit Robots!!! Although maybe the seven dwarves might be good??

Once enough people have put they're suggestion down, we will count out votes and see who the most popular choices are... we will then give the top two choices for each character forward as suggestions from the strongest suggestive force in the world... the fans!!

On top of that, please put down your names to as a petition that we want Douglas Adams to write the screen play ..... surely all of his fans couldn't be wrong????

Look forward to hearing from you.

Which version are we working from ?

Radio, TV, or books?

Radio would be my favourite - I'm sure Hollywood could come *fairly* close to matching our imaginations sfx if they tried (but then again...)

I'm not sure if I'd prefer an animated version or not? Then we could have the original actors doing the voices!!!!!

Only English actor that Hollywood dould know of that would even come near to playing Arthur Dent would be Hugh Grant - AAAAARGH!!!!
Another reason not to like the film!!!

My suggestions: yes, it should be based on the Radio series, though the books are even more surreal, so that *might* be interesting as an alternative. Hollywood should not be allowed anywhere near it. The Guide has quite subtle humour that would be quite lost in their hands. And it shouldn't be animated, but use the latest technology much like many recent films - what little I have seen of the TV series looks amateurish. Sadly, none of this relates to who should be in the main roles. I'll keep thinking about that one... smiley - smiley

DNA posted over at the forums in http://www.douglasadams.com that the film would be based around the books - I can't remember if it was just the 1st book or 1st 3 - it was ages ago.

I've only read thhgttg about 6 times, so I won't claim to be an expert, but one face that pops out every time I encounter Ford Prefect is, ready for this? Bob Geldolf. (Pink, from "The Wall")Am I completly insane? Or do I need to put more effort into it?
