Isn't it like a general rule that you don't call people after 9pm or before 9am unless previously arranged?

People who watch films like Minority Report and go on about how futuristic it is, and won't admit that it's quite an old book, yes, made from paper and everything, even when you take in a first printing with date and all and show it to them.

Contrived rivalry between pop bands to fuel a publicity campaign.

The fact that pop stars have "personalities" made up for them to use in interviews.

Ooh. I hate people who don't read.
If you have 3000+ books, why are you reading Harry Potter? Unless they are all rubbish books...

People who stand at pedestrian crossings without pressing the button...and then look really surprised when I push them into the oncoming traffic...oh no thats just in my imagination

People who spout out cliched dislikes - like being anti-Daily Mail, or anti-Marilyn Manson - when they don't read/listen to the product and understand the point behind them.

I'm with PQ on wanting to push them into the traffic
As to why read Harry Potter? Because it's mindless drivel at times, and I kinda like to switch off after reading a Ray Bradbury, Larry Niven or Philip K Dick.
People who have never heard of Ray Bradbury, Larry Niven or Philip K Dick and yet claim to be Sci-Fi fans.

Kids are bad for dropping litter but City suits doing it should definitely know better. Drink cartons and banana skins walking along to the station in the morning ! I told one middle aged man yesterday that I thought he'd dropped something - of course he pretended not to hear so I picked it up and crossed in front of him and put in a bin saying 'that was easy'.

Definatley with Sat on the open minded thing.
Why claim to be open minded, or *understanding* when you're really just hiding bigotry instead of confronting it?

Zantic - Who is this woman?? Posted Jan 29, 2003
People who slag off HP without having read them...or having read them and expected great literature on the scale of Jules Verne...
They are a kids series for Hebes sakes!
For CHILDREN.....you know...the same age you were when you read the Hardy Boys or Sweet Valley high or Enid Blyton books. Just be greatful the kids are reading anything (and of course that HP has...hopefully...lead them onto Phillip Pullman or Dianna Wynne Jones or other cool kids books...)
Zantic...defending the right of kids books to be kids books!
*steps off soap box and goes off to do some actual work type stuff*
