Together we'll get FLW into the Edited Guide!

Well, I'd say: first gather more information and see what we want in it and what not; then get it all into a good form, well, and when we like it then we'll have a try with PR.

Ok, you help me get it and I'll get it in after the middle work.

good, I'll translate everything as good as I can from my German sources and you'll see that it's English in the end.

Anole Posted Sep 23, 2006
Please do, English is my native language, I don't want it slaughtered by babble fish.

Of course. I'd never use babelfish. I only use a proper dictionary and LEO, a good German online dictionary.

*comes in bearing two gifts*
I'll just set these down here for now, they are quotes. One for the beginning of your entry and one for the end, if you like them, that is.
1. "Nature is my manifestation of God. I go to nature every day for inspiration in the day's work. I follow in building the principles which nature has used in its domain"
2. "Organic buildings are the strength and lightness of the spiders' spinning, buildings qualified by light, bred by native character to environment, married to the ground."
I really like what you have done so far.
Wilma

thanks, I suggested a shorter version of the first one for the start. We have many new things in the other thread here.

I'll subscribe then.
Have either of you seen any of his buildings? I used to live within driving distance of Fallingwater.

Absolutely astounding originality.

Tavaron da Quirm - Arts Editor Posted Sep 23, 2006
no, I've never seen any of his buildings anywhere else than on pictures
I know the name but I don't know where to put him now.

He was around FLW's time. Loved large walls of window.

I remember something about sweeping broad strokes of modern materials. Not like FLW much, or maybe I remember poorly
My best memory of Fallingwater is the furniture and how it 'fit' the house. It was almost as though he built the walls last. I never managed to see any of his other buildings

That looks like what he does. But he isn't important right now.
