I know that every Jr. high student is aware of the word and it's pronunciation, but I have never met anyonw who actually knows what it means.

Phernology- the study of the bumps on the head, the study of the dimentions of the human skull.

I do believe you misspelled that. Phernology = Phrenology. Your definition was slightly off, as well. Here is one I looked up:

Phrenology (frenn-ahl'-uh-gee)- The study of the shape and protuberances of the skull, based on the now discredited belief that they reveal character and mental capacity.
