Ghost Story
I searched for you in photographs,
In truths and strange ideas.
You haunted me with whispers
And stilled my restless fears.
I searched for you in hunger —
My veins did yearn for light.
You haunted me with whispers —
An essence of delight.
I searched for you in diagrams
And mysteries profound.
You haunted me with whispers
And turned my gaze around.
I searched for you in kisses,
In skin and hearts and dust.
You haunted me with whispers —
A flame of fragile trust.
As I journey through this labyrinth —
Through tunnels of my death,
I hear a haunting whisper —
A pure and unseen breath.
And the demon-claw of hatred
Yet hovers here above...
Still haunted by the whisper
Of the ancient Ghost of Love.
