Yes, nothing like freshly pressed slacks to make one aware of the 'sound of the wounds knitting themselves'.
Very creative use of words and woolens over the eyes.
But once again, I find myself, in my self-defining role of preditor, completely unable to resist correcting your superfluous use of the apostrophe in the possessive form of "its" as in 'for all its dents and rust and clacking'.

I'm sorry. It's a nervous tick. I've always had a predeliction for unnecessary apostrophication. I've been to the exorcist, but he says he can't help me if I don't belief in the healing powers of William Peter Blatty's old IBM Selectric balls...
It seems I'd have to kiss them...
