I'm beginning work on the Isle of Wight Fortifications. It'll be about 27 articles in total. At the moment I'm unsure whether to keep it as one block, or divide into 3 sections - East Wight, West Wight and Sea Forts. What do you think?

Seriously, it's brilliant! I really like the glossary, too.
You're writing something which is comprehensive in scope, yet which, on the strength of this overview, will be sufficiently detailed, and should form a fascinating introduction to the subject. Everyone knows about England's Norman castles, but these fortifications will become of increasing interest in the future. This will be an authoritative guide and h2g2 will be enriched by it.

I agree with Icy marvellous work
Just 1 minor point
Casemate Bombproof >Ventilated< chamber within the ramparts, often used as a gun emplacement or soldier's living quarters.
Ventilated it was the point of the casemate they were subterranean and the carbon monoxide would kill the gun crews otherwise.
