ooo will do: I've had it unplugged and was logged out of SKYPE etc., whilst I was doing some recording to minimise conflicts and to reduce CPU/RAM usage I'll plug the beast in... oo actually call me once I@m logged in; I need to find out which button is the 'answer' button... so if you call and I hang up/end the call, just redial and I'll try the next button! wheres the USB port gone

I know nothing about skype, but I have heard some scare stories, which if true, should be made aware to potential users who may sign up as a result of the proposals here. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this is what I've heard.
A little known and very tiny part of the small print states that all users provide some of their bandwidth to keep the skype network running. Occasionally, due to bad configuration or other reasons, Skype users have become a 'hub' and have ended up providing a lot more bandwidth than expected. The result is locked accounts from ISP's for exceeding monthly bandwidth limits or huge bills from ISP's who charge for the overuse.

Getting back to the content, I think it might be a good idea to have the podcast feature segments from each creative, "official" aspect of the site: i.e. the EG, the UG and .
Also, would there be a sort of quality-control, italic-/community-approval system, and how would that work? It seems to me that the proposed scheme is sort of like an audio , where content is submitted by email and subject to approval by the editors of the podcast, i.e. the italics - or would it be the AViators to whom final approval falls? Is this group of volunteers meant to act as content producers or content monitors, or both? In future, would you get an AViator badge for submitting content and having it appear in a podcast, an EG entry, etc., or only for monitoring/editing content?
In addition, maybe we need some sign-up lists: those who are interested in reading EG entries, those who are interested in making music, recording voices on Skype or producing content in conjunction with the UG and , or any other form of content.

I really like this idea, though I do wonder how much content people can come up with. Would it be a regular weekly thingy?
Actually, I can see another good thing about all this. If we have EG entries read out, then the recordings can be kept on the site (ie. not as part of the programme), so we end up with a guide that speaks. Access the speaking guide from a portable device and you essentially have the same as the fictional guide.

That's a very cool point!
A cool point? Crivvens, have a word with yourself Roymondo!
I doubt it would be weekly, I suppose it would depend how much stuff turns up. It would be nice if it could be tied in with and turn up fortnightly.

Weekly? Almost certainly not
What I personally would like to see is at least four or six 'episodes' created and ready before launch, so that we'd have a series together. But before we get carried away, I still need to ask permission to do it. I know, I know...
