As this is a complete replacement rather than an update, and the Marillion entry's authors have left the building, I've whacked it in PR rather than the Update Forum. There's not too much about the music (the old dancing about architecture thing), more about the gradual split between Fish and the rest of the band.

Anyway: the Genesis running gag wasn't working so I've footnoted most of the Genesis references.

I like this! I adore Fish! On first glance, I have nothing to add.

Not really sure whether this should be in the Update Forum, though. So will let others correct us!

I wasn't sure either. I read the Update Forum page and was still unsure! I tried to stay away from descriptions of the songs etc. as that's boring to anybody that hasn't heard them and superfluous to anyone that has. I think that the gradual effect that drugs had on the band makes for a more interesting entry.

I love Fish too.

Oh it's a lot different to the original so I think it'll be fine!

Does anybody out there know why they sacked Mick Pointer?

Hi Roy, having looked at the original article, [couple of times cos I blinked and missed it], I don't think there should be an issue as to which one should be the main version. I know absolutely nothing about the band so can't comment on content as such however there is no doubt it is more comprehensive and informative than the original and I personally feel this is the place for your effort rather than update forum.
This is a well written and researched piece from what I can see, well done. I'll leave others to comment on content.

I had to add a Fish quote from that Dave Ling interview: it's just too good to leave out.

I know the quotes are mostly Fish but, to be frank, the other members' quotes are a bit boring!

There's a discussion with the Eds at the moment. We're looking for "extensive rewrites" to go through the Update Forum, but to be treated with the honour of a Front Page appearance. The Eds are amenable, but we're just sorting out the details at the moment.

Cool. I'm not too bothered about the front page but didn't want it to get lost. Having looked at the Update Forum it seems it shouldn't be a problem - I misread the situation.

I should mention that one of the reasons for popping this in PR was that I wanted comments and/or suggestions, which I didn't think I'd get in the Update Forum from as many people as in PR.

That's certainly true, but the Eds were insistent that updates go in the update forum.

I promise I'll look at it.
